Australian P.M. Scott Morrison provides update on bushfire situation

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison held a news conference on Thursday morning to provide an update on the bushfire situation.

Morrison said that there had been 27 fatalities and over 1200 homes lost across the country, and that the numbers were likely to increase. He also stated that the country is “a long way from the end of this crisis,” and that their emergency assets will prove vital over the coming days.

Morrison also referenced the Iran missile crisis, stating that the country’s goal “remains a united and stable Iraq,” and that his government’s priority is the “safety and security of Australians.”
